Meet Susan Koye

Susan Koye is a multi-talented wire artist who teaches various workshops in the surrounding community. In her LBB (life before beads) Susan was a naval officer and pilot and holds the distinct honor of being one of the first female graduates from The Annapolis Naval Academy. There, she majored in Engineering and Political Science with a focus on terrorism. She also studied at the University of Pennsylvania in the Dynamics of Organization program with a focus on adult learning and organizational behavior. Prior to teaching her hobby, she was a manager at McNeil Pharmaceutical and McNeil Consumer Products in pharmaceutical products operations and manufacturing. She was also a corporate trainer for Johnson & Johnson and human resource consultant. In addition to wire work, Susan enjoys lampworking, juried dollmaking craft shows, beadwork and watercolor painting. She loves teaching because she enjoys meeting others and learning various aspects from her astute students. She has a blue point Siamese cat and white German Shepherd and enjoys swimming. And because that all didn't keep her busy enough, Susan is also the founder and President of the Main Line Bead Society, which serves the greater Philadelphia area. We are honored to have her teach at Buttercup Beads!
