There is light at the end of the tunnel.
November 16, 2007
Hello all, and welcome to the launching of Buttercup Beads! Well, we're finally, really, getting somewhere. It's been a long and arduous process opening this store, but Bud and I are definately seeing light at the end of the tunnel now. And (whoo-hoo!) if the paint dries in time - we plan to open our doors on Tuesday, November 27 at 10 am. Over the next few days, we still have some trim to paint and crown molding to hang, inventory to sort, and price, and tag, but after that we can start to move the beads and other goodies in and begin to set up. We plan to take Thanksgiving off and spend it with the family, (there is Holiday soup to be made doncha know!) and then put the finishing touches on the store next weekend. The signs for the building will take a few more weeks to get in but that's not going to stop us. Beads are everywhere here at home, and I don't remember the last time I saw my living room. I think I left it somewhere behind the kitchen... I don't know if I'll have *all* the bells and whistles in place by opening day - (even I (an Aries) underestimated how many things need to get done!) but I'm sure going to try my darndest. Wish me luck. Anyway, I sincerely hope that you can come and celebrate with us. After all - when you take away the sparkly, baubly things - this project is really more about community than anything else. It's really about bringing new and seasoned beaders together under one little roof to share the secrets, to have some fun, and to put an actual touch and feel to imagination and creativity. And if, in the process, we happen to make some really great jewelry too - well - who can argue with that!? I must extend a sincere Thank You to everyone who has been so patient and understanding through this - whose bright energies and kind wishes have pushed me on. Because of you- my loyal customers, my students, my family, and friends - you are and always have been the inspiration for this crazy idea. You believed in me and encouraged me right from the start, and in so many, many different ways. <---And that, has made all the difference. Be sure to take a walk around this new website a bit - bookmark it to your favorite places and come back to visit often. Remember to sign up for the Buttercup newsletter - to keep you informed about all the sales, and classes, and promotions that will happen in the store. Thank you, and thank you again, and I hope to see you all soon!
Until then, happy beading. Andrea
