We're devoted, but not that devoted.

July 4, 2008

Dear Busy Beaders,

Okay, so we thought we would stay open until 3pm today,
this dreary 4th of July - but when I called Carlie this
morning at the shop to see how things were going (11:30am)
I hear:

"Mom, we're the only ones open in the complex today, and
not a single beading soul has been in yet."

So I shuffled around the kitchen in my slippers and pajamas
and pondered our options.

"But the beaders NEED us, Carlie."

"They can wait until tomorrow, Mom."

"But what if they're in a bind and need that one more
crystal, or two more bead caps, Car?"

"They'll just have to wait, Mom."

"But the anxiety, the shakes....the sleepless
night...Carlie, you don't understand."

A long pause. Then she said,

"If I come home now Mom, I'll have time to make us a
chocolate cake..."

A short pause.

"You're right. Let them eat cake."

"Lock the door, and hurry home daughter." I replied
cackling aloud.

So we're sorry if we inconvenienced you today, but there
were more important things for us to be doing on this 232nd
anniversary of our country's freedom.

Like cooking and eating, and laying around, and enjoying
our friends and family.

We thought you should be too.

To the veteran Beaders - we know you can handle a one day
abstinence. To the newly addicted, break down something
you already did, and restring it. Repeat. It's a tactic
that will hold you over for the next 24 hours. Trust me, it
works.

Wiping cake crumbs from my chin, thank you for your
understanding. We'll see you Saturday at 10am! Happy 4th!

The bead news:

So while I have you - let me give you a few beady date=ups.

The floral beads are in and mixed and tagged and hung and
we even left some whole strands for you to buy. Most all
of the new Czech glass and seed beads are out now too. And
did I tell you about the new Dicro pieces? Oooh, pretty.

The July calendar is up and running - please check the
website for details - note all of the NEW classes we have
starting this month too!
http://www.buttercupbeads.com/page/page/4920460.htm
We're excited to have some new wire working by Suzi Q, and
Macrame by Dottie, as well as Danni's new seed weave
designs, and Gina's new two-toned bangle.

Our continually popular classes stay on the map: Carol's
Byzantine and Persian weave, as well as the fabulous
Kumihimo & Precious Metal Clay classes - I've added Fringe
Fiesta again this month, and the demand is always strong
for one of our most popular class - Susan Koye's Wire
Coiled bangle. If you havn't done this one - you're
missing out big time. Susan is also doing the Wire Wrapped
Cabochon and wire crochet. There's a whole lot more, so
check it out!

Kids bead camp is in force all summer too - we've designed
some really cute projects for them to create and the kids
are loving them. We focus on technique (age appropriate) so
that the fun can continue at home for them all summer too.
Seats are still left, and you can book for a week at a time
or day at a time, if you choose, you can even spred your
week out over the summer months.

Save the date! July 26 & 27 - I will be giving free
lampworking demonstrations at the store!! - see calendar
for details. Save 10% too that weekend on any of my
lampwork beads!

On July 29th - Carlie turns 22! Come in for some special
savings and a piece of birthday cake! - Unlike the
majority of us - she still looks forward to her birthday
every year. (That will change..)

Check the coupon page for your....in honor of her...
birthday surpise.

So with that - I will get back to eating.

Pray the rain clears, and we can see some fireworks
tonight!

As always - thank you for you business, and continued
support -
we really appreciate it, as well as you. We think you're
all pretty groovy.

Our love,
Andrea & Carlie
