A Season of Busy=ness, some fun, and some savings.
Dec 7, 2008
I hope this note finds you all feeling haggard, cranky, rushed, worried, broke, and anxiety-ridden. You are? Good.
If you are not feeling that (Donna) - then you're not doing something right. And simply, we're sorry - but we don't have time to fix that for you.
But if you are feeling normal(as stated above)then I must demand that you now make time to fit reading this note into your busy schedule. Not later. Now. You think I don't have better things to do with my time too people!? Respect people. Respect.
ahem...(Beth - pay attention! And where the heck is Melissa?)
Halleluia, Amen! We just got in a beautiful selection of Antiqued Brass findings, chains, charms, and focals. I recently incorporated them in some of my latest jewelry creations and boy, oh boy, are they fabulous and fun to work with! They make any type of bead look unique and interesting - but I think they look especially great with the stone beads for a great organic "found object" kind of look that is so hot these days. Big sigh - the possibilities are endless -
We also got in a really pretty selection of hand made face pendants that will look exceptional as the focal piece for a bead embroidered cabachon. Each ceramic face is hand-molded and painted with just the right tinge of color and wash. The artist send me a wide range of sizes and no two are exactly alike. Be sure to check them out next time you come in.
I deliberately kept the class schedule light and light-hearted this month - by dedicating a few days to just doing some fun projects - like the beaded snowflake, "Cinderella's Ball - beaded ornament, and all day bead soirees. Yay! Gina is finally back on her feet again - and has added not one, but two Holiday Wire Earring classes in at the last minute called "Fancy That!" They're now scheduled for the 14th and the 20th of this month. This class is easy and fun to do - you can bang out a couple pairs of great stocking stuffers in no time. Perfect for your Holiday party too!
Other classes include, Triangle Weave, Beaded Rivioli and a pretty new bracelet called "Harlequin Romance" - all fast easy projects that you can use as last minute hostess gifts too. Please call or check the website calendar for details.
We are happy to announce that this year, along with MLBS, we are participating in the US Marines "Toys for Tots" program - so if you can, please drop off a NEW, UNWRAPPED toy for our "tot box" so that we can help make a difference for a few families during this hard economic year.
Because we will probably be doing our own Christmas shopping and cooking at the last minute - please note that the store will be closed on the 24th and the 25th. (So Lisa - remember to tell Jack to come in before then for your gift certificate! - I don't want to see him get into hot water again this year.)
Say - speaking of gift certificates (JACK)- Here is another little holiday perk which shall now come to you in an official Buttercup Notice:
Here ye! Here ye! Let it be known to all beading biddies and their families, that from this day forward and up to and Christmas - all Holiday Gift Certificates will be granted a special holiday savings of 15%. Did you hear that? Buy a gift cert and save 15%! Fifteen percent! Yippee!
Okay, that's all I can think of right now - except one. Carlie and I will be happy to be your official holiday cookie samplers this year - just to make sure that they pass uh....inspection.
so ya know, keep that in mind.
oh, we do breads too...nice moist, yummy dessert breads...
but please. no fruitcake.
unless it's really, really, good fruitcake - without the mystery chunks.
we're not certified for that.
righto - that's if for now -
oh - except this other one too-
Thank you to each and every one of you for all the good wishes, congratulations, flowers, visits, champagne! and support over our ONE YEAR anniversay day - you all are so amazing to us.
Carlie and I feel very blessed by all the new friends we have made - all of the new experiences we have shared, all of the creativity, and all of the laughter, smiles, and love over this, our first year. You've all - each and collectively - have made this such an amazing adventure for us -
We enjoy your visits, your enthusiasm, your funny stories, and your smiles. We are so grateful that you choose to keep returning. We know that everyone is feeling the economic pressures and so appreciate that you remain devoted in supporting this little bead adventure. We hear that more than a few of you consider this a little home away from home - it is a goal that we set from the very beginning for the store and is truly the biggest compliment we can ever receive. So once again, Thank you - and thank you again - for all that you've given us.
I'll let you get back to your regular seasonal pressures now - but please know that we wish for you a season of peace, and hope, filled with family and friends. We wish for you too - many small and unexpected delights, quiet beauties, calm moments, creative inspiration, and of course, good, no great! health and prosperity. We really do. Merry Christmas everyone!
With love and appreciation,
Andrea & Carlie.
