About The Beaded Patchwork Quilt Project

April 6, 2009

Hi All-

As many of you who attended last month's soiree already know - we are in the process of designing a collaborative bead project to be donated and auctioned off for a charity organization.

We welcome and invite anyone to join "The Buttercup Beaders -Beaded Patchwork Quilt Project" by donating your own little patchwork of beads. ("Labors of Love")

As we will need to stitch the donated patches all together to form a beautiful wall hanging, we do need everyone to follow a few simple guidlines.

1. First all patches must be in flat even-count peyote stitch.

2. Finished patches must measure 3in. X 3in. square. (My square is 58 beads wide) - Measure against a ruler to be sure, as bead sizes might slightly vary.

3. Please use only size 8/0 Japanese seed beads for the base- so that there is consistency to size, and ease of finishing.

4. Feel free to embellish on top, add charms, or do any pattern you wish. Try to convey a look that is unique to you!

We are actively looking for volunteers to help organize the event, and gather information on charity organizations. We're hoping to have this project done by the end of summer.

Free peyote lessons will be available at soirees for anyone not knowing the stitch, or needing help with their design. We welcome your input and enthusiasm!

We know this will be a fun community project and the finished project amazing! All are welcome - we hope that you will join our cause today! Please contact the store with any questions. 484-524-8231.

Stay tuned for future updates, contact people, and progress notes.

thanks much!
